In collaboration with both private and public sector partners, we prioritised support for six projects throughout the county.
By 2025, the six projects funded by the Getting Building Fund, had resulted in the creation of 619 new jobs, the preservation of 256 jobs, assistance for 383 businesses, opportunities for 507 new learners and 2441 new super/ultrafast broadband connections enabled in rural areas.
To ensure the wider Oxfordshire community are aware of the fund’s impact, we developed an animation – ‘Lighting the Spark’ – which brings to life just where Getting Building Fund allocations were spent and the major benefits to which it is leading for businesses and communities across the county.
Please note: This programme was delivered when Enterprise Oxfordshire were operating as OxLEP.
A deep-dive into our Getting Building Fund projects
Three of the Getting Building Fund projects support the county’s emerging green economy and low-carbon initiatives to address the climate emergency. Another is focused on the regeneration of high streets in Oxfordshire’s county towns.
There is also recognition of changing work patterns, with a programme that has provided greater broadband capabilities to rural areas. A further project is focused on enhancing facilities for a key field in our innovation ecosystem: biomedical research.
Through our investment, we have been able to support projects throughout the county that benefit our drive towards a green economy, boost our county towns and enhance our already-world leading capabilities in vaccine and biomedical research.
